I’m going out to dinner tonight to Black Angus, which is a steakhouse. Anyways I was wondering if choosing a 10 oz. new york strip cut would be healthier than a 6oz. fillet mignon? Since the New York cut is thinner than the fillet mignon

I couldn't find the 10 oz. version of the New York Strip, so I substituted the 12 oz. cut instead for a broader comparison.

Answer:
Um…I've never been to 'Black Angus' before so I don't really know what the food is like, but I'm guessing it depends what is on the food, I mean sometimes stuff that’s on the less fattening dish if more fattening because of the stuff they put on it when it was cooking. Sorry if my answer is confusing.

Answer:
It is is fat content of the cut of beef that determines which one is healthier (and more flavorful) not the thickness. I am almost certain the filet mignon is leaner.

Answer:
I think the fillet mignon would be much healthy. It is a very lean piece of meat which is why a lot of times they wrap bacon around it to give it more flavor

Answer:
Strips have less fat on them then mignon's. I would just peal the fat that’s on the steak away.

Answer:
They’re both about the same.
