I'm 18 yrs old, 5'7.5″ and now I'm about 116.8-117.0 lbs. I am gradually increasing my calorie count to come out of starvation mode. A few days ago, I increased my calorie count to between 1300-1400 calories a day from 1200-1300. I was still losing a bit on 1200-1300 but I noticed I have been gaining about 0.2 lbs a day since i increased.

I weight myself at the same time each day, I wear the same thing, etc etc. I dont eat before and so on…so how is this possible? It's been increasing steadily for like, 3-4 days. Help?!

Answer:
You obviously are in starvation mode (your body, not your intake). In this condition, your body will store as much energy, and consume as little energy as possible.

If your intake is high in car bs, this process accelerates, since it is so easy to store unused carbs.

You need to add protein and limit carbs, then slowly reintroduce them. Start at about 20 max carbs per day, and add 5 each two weeks until your weight is stable.

Cut out excess salt as well. This can be hidden in many foods, so read the labels.
