i have been eating a low calorie, low fat, low sodium diet, no white bread, no junk food, etc, lots of fresh fruits and veggies, with cardio an hour a day (elliptical and treadmill) and strength training three times a week, and i lost 22 pounds in three weeks. i am 5'7″ and started out at 180. it doesn't seem like i should have lost that much since i wasn't very obese? is this unhealthy? what am i doing wrong? i know i'm getting enough calories. do you think it's because those 20 pounds had been gained over a very short period of time and it was largely water?

Answer:
Your first few weeks of dieting you lose a lot of weight. Then it starts to even out you and lose a more consistent amount of weight. Don't freak out if you start gaining a few pounds because you’ll probably start building muscle after a while. You weren't obese but it seems to me that you were overweight or atleast close. The more you weigh the faster you burn fat because you’ve more fat to lose.I tried dieting last summer but I was a little underweight and lost about 6 pounds in 6 weeks but thats because I probably didn't need to lose much weight.Keep if up and don't worry you're doing good.

Answer:
i think trans fat is fake, have you ever gone through a grocery store and read the lable to every edible thing there? each single thing states 0 trans fat, i think its just an illusion to make it seem like its not as unhealthy as it really is, so people think that means its better for you. I had a surplus of pounds in all the wrong areas until I tried out acai berry, I comprehend they state that pills won't work, nevertheless they sure worked for me, and they have been shown on the Rachael Ray Show too. There's a free trial happening right now at http://mapacers.t28.net , try it out, how worse could it make things?

Answer:
I went on a diet once but I only had to lose 10 pounds, which I lost in 10 weeks. One pound/week was my goal.

At 5’7”, you’ve a healthy weight between 120 lbs and 155 lbs and you’re overweight between 160 lbs and 190 lbs (you were not obese, obesity would start at 195 lbs, in your case).
If you started at 180 and lost 22 pounds, then you now weigh 158 lbs, and you’re nearly there.
Each pound of fat reserve you want to burn is 3,500 calories. Usually, people on a successful weight loss, lose one to two pounds a week, which is 500 to 1000 calories/day that you’ve to reduce your diet and exercise. Unless you’re working out all day long, the rest of the weight loss should mostly be the loss of water, due to water retention, especially if you’re on a low sodium diet. The more massive you’re, the more water retention you will gain if you eat salty food. I’m 120 lbs and I will easily gain 2lbs just by having a slice of ham or a teaspoon of soy sauce with my sushi!
Now that you’re eating a low sodium diet, you’re losing all the water retention you had.
Also a healthy diet of fresh fruits and veggies (more fibers) will regulate your digestive system and some of the weight you’ll lose will be your body getting rid of some of the waste that was hanging around in your digestive system.

Just know that in the weeks ahead, you weight loss won’t be as dramatic and don’t be discouraged if you lose only one pound/week. A lot of small steps can still make the journey.
