I have been using Hydroxycut for a while and it has done wonders with my workouts. Yes, I do work out 5x a week for an hr (40 min weights, 20 min cardio or 30-30) I eat healthy and drink more than half a gallon of water a day. Though “with” hydroxycut, I was able to see a difference in my routine and my eating habits to name a few.

I am aware that there’s NO MAGIC PILL to make you lose weight, I’m simply looking for an substitute to “aid” me in my regime. I am also aware that most if not all of these “pills” are not FDA approved, but I haven't had any negative effects and am willing to try other options such as Xenadrin or Lipo6.

Please don't give me a lecture on taking pills. My mind is set. So having that been stated, has anyone taken any other supplements that helped?

I also use whey protein powder and Tonalin CLA.

Answer:
STOP using hydroxycut (for now). The FDA has issued a recall on it due to links with liver damage. Details here:

I also took Hydroxycut and thought it was extraordinary. I could do more in my workouts before tiring out, resulting in longer runs. I am also looking for an alternative but haven't quite found one. In the meantime I’ve been drinking a huge glass of orange juice (high glycemic index carb source) about 30 minutes before a workout. It seems to help a bit, but not quite what I would get out of hydroxycut. I’m going to try a couple of other supplements and I will let you know if I find anything that is comparable.

Answer:
An alternative to Hydroxycut that’s safe would be to watch your diet & exercise more. You definitely should not starve yourself while on a diet because you’ll only be slowing down your metabolism. You need to eat at least 1200 calories per day.I’ve been on this diet now and I’ve lost 17 pounds in less than a month. Basically I have been following The Biggest Loser Diet and it has been breathtaking. I have realized that now I have the ability to eat more [quantity wise] of healthy foods than I could of processed, junkie foods. Now I am almost never as hungry as I once was. First, I started cutting out all sodas, sugary soft drinks, and juices and instead I started drinking anywhere between 64-80 ounces of water each and each day. Drinking your water ice cold helps you to not give in to your cravings. Instead of snacking on junk foods try snacking on fruits and vegetables. Fruits can take the place of sweets that you would have been craving before. You should also make sure to watch your portion size because you could be eating the right foods but just too much of it. A great weigh to burn calories swift and get in shape is to do some sort of cardio activity for at least 30 minutes everyday. Personally I would advocate 45 minutes to 1 hour of cardio per day. Another great way to lose weight that’ll also help you tone up is to start a strength training program. Essentially you should be following through with your strength training program 3-4 days per week.
Here’s an example of what I eat each day;
Breakfast: 1 cup of cream of wheat [you can spice it up with bananas, fruits, spices, etc.]
Snack: 1 cup of grapes
Lunch: Half of a ham/turkey [protein] sandwich on whole-wheat bread
Carrots with a tiny bit of ranch dressing to dip it in.
1 cup Cantaloupe
Snack: ½ cup cottage cheese with mandarin oranges
Dinner: Chicken fajitas on Whole-Wheat tortillas
Dessert: Low-calorie ice-cream bars such as the “Skinny Cow” brand ice cream bars.
Hope this helps you (:
