On Thursday I played hockey (goalie) for about 40minutes (if anyone doesnt know, thats like doing squats with 50lbs strapped to your body for 40 minutes straight) and i sweated a TON and my both my upper legs are STILL shot (its Saturday)…I have to play again on Sunday night…
I’ve a very hard time going down stairs, but i have really no problem going up stairs…why is that?
Its been 2 days since i played, can i still workout my upperbody even though my legs are still sore (i feel like crap when i don't workout for a while)
if you lose a lot of water through sweat, does your body ache longer? Is that why my legs are still aching???
Also, if there ANYTHING i can do to recover faster? food? hot shower? caffeine?

i can only answer 3 questions, sorry
1- going up and down stairs, even though going down is less excercise, use different muscles. so you might have strained the muscles you use going down stairs
2- you might be in a lot of pain because you havent played hockey in a while other than thursday, which might mean you didnt use those muscles much before, so since you used them a lot on thursday, they hurt. or, if you didnt stretch before playing, that could be why they injured
3- rest, dont use them too much. each day few hours, do a few minor stretches, or lift some light weights. or, put those leg weights on your legs every few hours, and sit down, then lift your legs up.

Try taking a hot bath with Epsom Salts. I know it seems excessive, but you need approx. 4-5 cups of the salts, depending on the size of your bath. DO NOT injest the bath water! Epsom Salts are a laxative also. Stay in for about 30 minutes. You muscles should loosen up almost immediately, if they dont feel superior when you get out, I suggest getting back in and maybe adding more salts.
