Hi, I'm Mal, Editor in Chief of on the web fashion magazine, LaVieCherie.com.
Our style team concurs that the first one is the more typical prom dress. We also love that jewel tone green. The only problem we see is that you are more than likely never to wear this again.
The second one is on the verge of being a maxi dress which we believe is edging on the casual side for prom. However, it's something you can wear throughout the summer if you’ve any weddings or special occasions.
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and can accessorize it well with your jewelry, shoes, hair and makeup.
Have you tried looking at anything more classic such as the dress selection at Nordstrom?
Good luck,
Mal
