Album cover ideas for MY album, QUICK!!!!!?
I am a 16 yr old girl i play the violin and I sing and I play the guitar really well so I am recording an album, but I cannot think of a cover and we’re shooting like tomorrow, but we're not hiring a professional photographer or anything. so what kind of a setting should we do? I’m not like really “country fiddler” sort of think, I’m more into gypsy and celtic-ish music, so I’m just trying to think of a good setting/pose and what not for the cover, help!
and where I live, it is warm and sunny out tomorrow and I am wearing a dress that has kind of a hippie style, casual and cute…..
Answer:
In and around an old home sounds enjoy it could stir up a gypsy/celtic mood. Also alongside a river.
If you're a little more modern or edgy, a more city scene might work, with a gritty wall for a background.
How about leaning against a sculpture? Don't show the whole thing, show just enough to give viewers the feeling you're up against an odd shaped background. It will also make you stand out, being that sculptures are usually rather monotone and dark.
I hope that helps you get some ideas of places to shoot. Take lots of pictures from different angles and distances. Hopefully you're using a digital camera with lots of memory. Shoot at the highest quality so you have room to crop the pics and have them still be big enough to print. If you're shooting film, use at least a roll of 36 at each location. Great photographers get great pictures by taking lots of pictures, not by taking 1 or 2 and moving on.
If you're putting out a CD, you have the cover, the tray back and depending on the booklet a few more places to put pics in it.
Oh yeah, when you shoot at different locations, have your photographer shoot the scenes without you in it too. Up close and far back. Those shots could be used for backgrounds on the tray card or the interior of the booklet.
Good luck and have fun!
