*not long enough- won't reach desired color
*too long- dries out the hair
and if you had color on your hair from previous color jobs (don't care if it was from a year ago, its still there if it was permanent dye (unless it was cut off)) and you're trying to go lighter, it won't work due to the fact that tint doesn't lift tint. your roots will be the only change in color.
next time, go to the salon.

If you want your hair to be a little darker than leave it in a tiny more mins, but other than that it should state on paper as well. But should be around 30 mins. and sometimes a tiny bit more longer at times. It depends on what product you use.

if you’re dying it blonde….the longer you leave it in the lighter it gets if you’re dying it a dark color, the longer you leave it in the darker it gets…..hope i could help you!

if its a darker color, i say 20 mins maybe 25, but if its a blonde then 15-20
