can't I do it on myself right? For instance, when doing my eyeshadow, am I supposed to get the whole lid, like up to my brows,or just the lid part of my eye? And with eyeliner, is it out of date now to put eyeliner on the upper AND lower lids of my eyes? I can never tell if my lipstick looks good either! I know MAC is the ideal make up. But what is the ideal inexpensive brand that can be compared to MAC?

Aw all you need is practice! Try looking at makeup websites and magazines to study the application. There are lots of different ways of applying eyeshadow - mainly depending on color and how many you'll be using. Since you're a beginner, try a easy one colored eyeshadow look. Apply from your top lashlines to just a bit above your creases. It isn’t out of date to put eyeliner on both bottom and upper lids of your eyes! But for a more simple look - only line upper. Guide the eyeliner on the upper lashlines…try wiggling it in between your lashes to reach a more natural look. When in doubt of lipstick - select a natural shade. You can't go wrong with a simple lip gloss. Try a nudish pink lipgloss with a tint of gold - it looks great on nearly anyone.
The most affordable brand that can be compared to M.A.C is probably lOreaL from drugstores. Their H.I.P eyeshadows and eyeliners rival M.A.C products. Same intensity and quality but less $$!
I advocate you buy some really cheap makeup to practice with before you begin buying good quality ones…like bonnebell or N.Y.C (most of their products are around $1) to practice with first. You can practice at home (its fun :D).
Remember practice makes perfect! Try buying a makeup book guide to help you. You should also ask your friends for some tips. In no time, you'll be a pro.
