My daughter (age 3) and I go to the library multiple times a week. I never seem to find very good books.

What books do your children enjoy?

We like both short and long picture books, so any suggestions are great!

Answer:
My children love to read non-fiction books about animals and a great one we stumbled onto at the library is Actual Size by Steve Jenkins. Have a measuring tape handy with you when you read this one–you AND your child will be amazed at the size of some of these animals!

Some others of our favorites (fiction):
There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly (Simms Taback version)
A Frog in a Bog and Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson (and others by Karma Wilson)
Tuesday by David Wiesner
Things That Are Most in the World by Judi Barrett
Mommy Mine by Tim Warne
No, David and the other David books by David Shannon

We read all the time around here, and those are some that we found in libraries and then added to our collection because they were so good we’d to have them at home.

Answer:
Well Dylan LOVES the classic “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” book. Honestly, we read it at least 3 times in sitting.

He also cares about his two new books about the sea. We bought them at the aquarium and he LOVES the “Baby Manatee” book.

I actually thought they’d be a boring read and possibly too advanced for him. It is more educational than “fun”. But he still cares about it and just yesterday he was ‘reading’ me the story about the manatee. About the baby and how it drinks milk. Super cute!!

He’s 2.5 yrs old and just LOVES storytime!!

Answer:
well you should see if your child likes hard books with longer stories. because a very good book that is also teaches lesson, and isn’t that bad is the bible there are lots of interesting stories. also they instill good morals, and behavior
