My son is three and in the last two weeks he has been unbearable to live with. He’s so hyper and can't focus on preschool at all. Is this a stage or could he have ADHD? Anyone of you’ve experience with this please let me know, I’m feeling desperate!
Answer:
He's three years old. He's not supposed to be able to focus for long periods of time, yet. He's still learning how to do this, how to choose when are appropriate times to be active and when to pay attention & be still. He's still learning how to figure out what to do with his urge to move once he realizes he's supposed to be still & pay attention.
Help him learn. It will take some time and patience. It will take figuring out how to communicate with him in ways he can comprehend and how to encourage him to think for himself & take pride in his choices.
But, at 3, every child is 'hyper' and has problems focusing. They are supposed to be curious & excited about the world around them!
Answer:
Could be both, have the instructors in preschool brought this up to you? My nephew I think has adhd but he is really good without his mom there, so the doc thinks it is a phase but they are going to wait until he’s in kindergarten before they do tests to see if the instructors think he has it as well or if it is just a thing with his mom. I would ask your doc and the teachers and see if they’ve noticed anything.
Answer:
Its probably a stage. Maybe he's got cabin fever, he's bored, or he feels spring coming on and he wants to go play. Either way, maybe a change of venues is in order. Depending on where you live, take him to some place where he isn't expected to be on his best behavior like the zoo or playground. Someplace he has the ability to just get it all out of his system. In addition, maybe its time to add some additional activities to his day. Are there any dance, gymnastics, martial arts, etc. classes in your area he could be enrolled in? Something where he can get that pent up energy out, might be just what the doctor ordered!
Answer:
before desperation sets in do some research on omega 3 and hyperactivity. Also do some research on food additives and allergies causing hyperactivity. 75% of kids given omega 3 or 6 for hyperactivity had a complete turn around in 3 months. MY son was quite high strung. We give him the omega and he’s a absolutely different child. Omega is a brain nutrient that helps calm and gives concentration
Answer:
That’s normal for tiny boys. Forget expecting them to sit for any long periods of time, it's impossible. To help with the hyperactivity cut out all sugary foods (cereal, drinks, snacks) and anything with red dye. Red dye is like crack for kids. It's awful.
Answer:
definetly take him to the physician first and if he aint adhd then try limiting his red die and sugsr intake try massage him his feet and back so he can learn how to relaxe hot bath stuff like that or let him burn his energy off @ the park or running around out side try that
Answer:
he’s three he has a attention span of 2 minutes. this is y preschool is unnecessary
Answer:
Maybe take him to physicians to see if he does have it if so they can tell you what to do.I am not really sure how else to help without knowing more information.
