It baffles me. They know you don't care for their advice or for their opinions and you’ve made that clear to them many times before, and they feel the same towards you, yet they still answer your questions. Not only do they answer your question but they find some way to subtly insult or belittle you in their answer or sometimes they flat out come in there and tell you that you are an idiot. Why can they not steer clear of your questions when they know they will only give a spiteful answer that is not going to be helpful?

I hate that! I think they just want to be rude. And I also hate it when people follow you around and give you negatives on every answer you make just for the sake of doing it. I’ve seen this happen to other people on here. It's just childish! Some people have no lives.

Because it's a public forum and you asked a question & they feel like answering it.
Yahoo Answers is not a closed support forum. It's a question & answer forum open to the general public, whether you like them or not.
It could also be asked, “Why do people keep asking questions on a public QA forum, if they don't want to hear answers from the public?”

I concur. If the person doesn't answer your question, and just says something completely off topic, you can report their answer and it can be removed. I'm sure there are several trolls (actually, I know there are several trolls). Some people just aren't happy with their lives and feel the need to come on the web and lie about stupid stuff nobody cares about.

Because they have no self respect for their selves let alone anyone else. Just like I have no idea why people always give someone a thumbs down when they answered the question truthfully, like what they have experienced or that they actually know. It make me mad too.

I agree with the other posts that these ppl are just taking out their spitefulness on you.
Abusive answers should ALWAYS be reported so the user will lose her/his account. (I know from long experience these ppl often have multiple accounts, but you have to make some effort to combat them!)
You should also block them from sending you emails.

I think some people just get a thrill out of being rude to others.I concur it is pointless & sometimes aggravating when people answer who have an issue with you still feel the need to answer your question & insult you.I will never comprehend it.

You can block certain people from answering your Q's. When they answer there shoudl be a little red circle with a line through it near their answer. If you click that it blocks them so they cant answer anymore.

Maybe they do it to get your goat, or maybe you stated something (or repeated somethings) to offend them because you're not really as non-judgmental and nice as you claim to be and they'd like to see you go away.

I know what you mean. I’m with Erica as well, it annoys me when people thumb you down for no reason. One time I got over 16 thumbs down simply for saying I was a non spanker. In the particular post I didn't even put down spanking, I just said it was a personal choice but that I would not select it for my family. I'll probably get a ton more now just for talking about it LOL
It's just immature people who can't stand the idea that others have different opinions and so they dwell on it.
