im on the depo shot and i've been taking antibiotics for the past week. my boyfriend and i have been having sex for the whole week that i've been on the antibiotics. i know some antibiotics alter birth control, because my friend was on the pill and she was taking antibiotics and she got pregnant. what are the chances of me being pregnant if the antibiotic really did alter my depo shot? i spotted yesterday and i thought it was my period, but it stopped coming this day. so i'm freaked out. also, i went to knott's yesterday and went on all the roller coaster rides. so if i AM pregnant, what are the chances that i had a miscarriage? after the last ride, which was the silver bullet..i had a major stomach ache and i felt like throwing up. anyone know the answers to my questions? please help…thank you!
Answer:
The popular knowledge is that antibiotics can affect BC pills; I don't know about depo. In any case, the rule is always: if you're not sure, use a backup method. Better safe than changing diapers unexpectedly.
Simply going on a roller coaster cannot cause a miscarriage. Those warnings you see are because of the rides' tendencies to throw riders against restraints and parts of coaster vehicles. The physical impacts could cause pressure on the uterus and induce miscarriage, though the danger is much more likely later in pregnancy — right now your uterus is tucked very safely in the bones of your pelvis and it would take a rare and horrible accident for any external impact to affect it.
Answer:
The spotting is probably just because the antibiotics are in fact effecting your birth control. When you’re on antibiotics you should always use a back up method, just in case, if you don't want to become pregnant. Scientists are still unable to determine an exact percentage of the likely-hood of pregnancy during that situation but it is only around 25 percent. If your period doesn't come, then wait a week or two and take a test. Good luck!
Answer:
You could be because even if your on the pill your boyfriend still needs to where a condom if you didnt use protection you might be pregant but really you should go to see your local doctor to find out.

You didn’t provide the needed information to estimate when you could have been ovulating which would help us to find out if you are more likely to be pregnant. When was the first day of your last period? It is prone to ovulate 2 weeks after that time so if you were having unprotected sex on the antibiotics around this time then it is very likely that the bleeding you had was implantation bleeding and you’re pregnant take a home pregnancy test.
