On Monday I had contractions stopped at the hospital with Terbutaline after an IV didn't work .. I didn't know I was having them because I didn't even feel them. I also have not felt any BH contractions this entire pregnancy and if I have, I didn't notice. What I want to know is — could that be an indication that labor is coming sooner than my due date? They wouldn't have stopped BH contractions with medications, right? I heard they don't even pick up on the monitors. The monitors are what picked up the contractions.
Just for some background info -
Diagnosed with GD around week 29, totally diet controlled
Considered “obese”
Baby wasn't being too active so I had to begin NSTs to make sure he was alright (the GD isn’t the reason I’ve these, they told me it's because of my concern about lack of fetal movement)
Due date November 21
Answer:
I’ve NST's twice a week because I am having twins. My braxton hix contractions don't show up on the monitor, and they really shouldn't have any reason to 'stop' braxton hix contractions. They are normal and healthy ways of your body getting prepared. It does kind of sound like they're worried about you going into preterm labor, I would take it easy and try to not get stressed out.
Answer:
I think due to all of the problems you’re having it wouldn't be so far fetched that you would have your baby earlier then the due date. And if they gave you medicine to try and stop those contractions you were having then that’s a good indicator that you are at risk of pre-term labour or going before your due date. Hopefully you can hold out another 2 weeks.
