Why is it that no one RSVP's anymore! My poor sister and friend are trying to throw me a baby shower, and only about 4 out of over 30 people have RSVP'd!! I have had to call or email nearly everyone to see if they are coming! It seems that a reply is something that only the older generation does (since only the older aunts have RSVP'd) Its frustrating to try and plan for food and seating when you don't know how many people are coming! Is it just my friends and family or is anyone else dealing with this???

I have that problem too! My husband just deployed to Iraq a week ago and a few days before he left I threw a surprise going away party for him. I was doing the same thing you are, calling people trying to drag a response out of them. Some of them on the day of the party. It ended up working well but I was frustrated as crap! Good luck!

Answer:
If you only get a few rspvs on time, then simply change the location and go on from there. Make it the same day, notify others its at your sisters or whatever and then don’t spread this info around, those who show up at your door can be met with a kind note on the door, stating, the shower location was changed since no one replied to rsvps and so the original shower was cancelled!

Answer:
I know what you mean. I'm trying to get people to RSVP for my wedding! I say plan according to how many people actually did the right thing and RSVP'd. If others show up expecting anything tell them that you did not anticipate them since they never responded and are not prepared for more people. They are welcome to stay, but seating and food is limited. Maybe that will trigger something in their brains! lol I suppose in all reality, you would like the friendship and don't forget the gifts from the shower. When you contact the negligent ones remind them kindly that you have not received their RSVP and cannot plan accordingly.

Best of luck to you and congratulations on your baby!

Answer:
I didn't have that many people not RSVP to my baby shower, but there were a handful of people. I think it's extremely rude of those people. It does seem to happen more with younger generations. Although you're upset about them not RSVPing and for having to contact them all, don't let it ruin your day! The anger will pass!

Answer:
I know exactly how you're feeling… I'm going through the same thing right now. My shower is Saturday and about 15-20 people have rsvp'd out of the 50 invites that were sent. I've ran into a few people who mentioned that they're coming and when I told my mom about it she had no idea. I think now-a-days most people write “regrets only” on the invites.

Answer:
I know what you mean i threw my sister a shower last year and no one RSVP'd everyone showed up but i had to call each person.and some of them brought extra people w/o even letting me know. talk about rude.

Answer:
This tends to happen at every important junction in life. People suck. I would stipulate on the invite that they need to know by such-and-such date and if not, then they can’t attend (said nicer than that, of course).

Answer:
i understand what you mean , i think it is the actual act of calling back. when you’ve wedding invitation you rsvp back by mail it just seams better than calling

Answer:
I just had my baby shower on sunday and no one RSVP.. some text me telling me how many were coming in the family but none called my sister or friend to let them know….. so ya i think these days no one does that no more

Answer:
I know how you feel. But dont worry only 20 rsvp for my sister shower and then 100 people showed up. So Dont get upset. Just make enough food. And those who dont get any o well then. Maybe next time they’ll learn there lesson

Answer:
For our wedding reception, we've only received about half the RSVPs. It doesn't really make me mad though, I'm assuming - unless told otherwise - that our friends and family will be there since we've talked to them all in person.

Answer:
