I lost my plug with bloody show 48 hours ago, I laid on the couch last night and started having really bad stomach pains and back pains (which felt like contractions) I went up stairs and laid down hoping to get some rest and to get more comfortable, well it worked, maybe too well, what I thought was labor just went away within an hour and hasn't returned since?!?!? What’s happening? Is this baby ever going to come out??

you shouldn't begin getting too concerned at just 38 weeks. I've known people to lose their mucous plug and still remain pregnant for weeks after. Most likely that won't be the case for you. I'm 39 and a half weeks and have irregular contractions, and back pain, and have lost parts of my plug… and still nothing either. I'll be concerned at 40 weeks.
Do you’ve an exercise ball? Some women I know got good dilation results from it.

That sucks. I would be disappointed too, but just gotta play the waiting game. Maybe try walking those stairs a few more times to see if you can get it to start back up, but don't' push your luck. You'll need your energy when baby decides to come.
FYI - I lost my plug 17 days ago and thought I was goinginto labor, but all the pains stopped too. And nothing too painful since. DAMN!! I'm waiting too.

my sister was a week over due and they had to induce labor on her. the baby still wouldnt come so they’d to end up doing a c section. she’s a perfect little baby, she just wasnt reay. your's will come when she’s ready too. Good luck and congratulations!

I lost my mucous plug with my first a whole week before I went into labor. With my second, I lost it the day of labor.
Just goes to show you that losing your plug isn't necessarily an indication of when labor will start.

loosing your mucus plug doesn't mean baby will show up right away. You’re nearly there. I lost my last mucus plug at 39 weeks and didn't deliver until 40wks 4 days. Just hang in there. your baby will be here soon. you weren't in true labor but your body is getting ready

I lost my plug a week before I was induced at 39 weeks. I had even started to go into early labor at 32 weeks (which they stopped). No one knows what triggers labor. If this is your first baby you can go as late at 42 weeks before you baby shows up.

Are you checking in with your physician??? Make sure that if your water breaks you get straight over to the hospital because they have to make sure the baby is out within 24 hours once that happens.
