and the dads saliva… is this possible? there’s a website that says they do it, and icalled them and they explained it to me a tiny bit. but they said that it wont work for courts only for curiosity because its new technology….. what do you think?

Answer:
Yes, it IS possible.

Also, if you are referring to DNA Plus, because it is new technology they offer a free traditional DNA test after the baby is born, to verify the results.

It won’t stand up in court, not so much because it is new technology but because a legal DNA sample would be given and maintained with a chain of command-meaning that photographs, fingerprints, duplicates of Identification, would be given at the time the sample was collected. Obviously, an unborn baby can not be photographed or fingerprinted. And, of course, paternity cases can not be established until after the baby is born anyway.

If you need to know the results now, the prenatal testing using the mother's blood is a good, albeit expensive, option. However, if you need a legally binding test you should wait until after the baby is born, because you’ll have to pay expenses again.

Samples need not be legally binding samples if the dad is not contesting paternity, BTW. You could do a test for personal knowledge and make your decisions based on that, if you’re able to cooperate. A great lab is http://www.GFILab.com You can get a buccal test on dad and baby for less than $100, and have results in just a few days. They also offer legal tests and a variety of other options-check out their site.

I hope this helps, and wish you the best!

Answer:
DNA tests have become so good that ONLY mouth scraping needs to be used. They don't use Saliva, they take a tissue sample from the inside of your mouth, swiftly and painlessly, just a few cells are needed. Courts will accept a DNA test from any REGISTERED testing facility, the result is final, the man definitely either is or isn’t the father, there’s nothing ambiguous or questionable about the results . The technology has been around for quite a while. It would be ideal to get a listed of approved testing agents from the Court House.
