im not sure if this is supposed to happen… and i just want to make sure that this is just not the medication for me..

how long does it take to see results from proactive??
specifically in the chest/back?!?!

My tiny sister (17) was using ProActiv. It did break her out at first, but it also didn't clear it up for her. They say that it can take 30-60 days for the ProActiv to totally work, but after 30 days, there was no signs it was getting superior for her.

Have you talked to a dermatologist or even a family doctor?? They started her on RetinA and after about a month on it, her acne is really clearing up!! I would talk to the doc and see about something like that. You just have to be very careful in the sun/tanning beds. Your face will burn like CRAZY! The RetinA will make you break out immediately, and your face will be very dry and peely, but the results will come soon after!! -If you use this treatment, make sure that you follow the steps to a “t”!!

Answer:
Unless the break out is HORRIBLE and seems care about it could be an allergic reaction then I wouldn't worry about it one bit, keep trying! For me proactive took about 3 weeks to begin working and about 6 weeks for my skin to be really clear.

One problem is that proactive dries your skin out…REMEMBER TO MOISTURIZE DAILY!!!

Also If you're finding the products really expensive (which I did) then just use the repairing lotion, after I stopped buying the other two it kept my skin just as clear.

Also don't listen to people who state stop because it made their face red and dry at first! It does that to EVERYONE but in a few days your skin will get used to it and in a few weeks it will be TOTALLY worth it.

I know it works because whenever I run out for a couple weeks my skin gets really bad! I hope it works for you too!

Answer:
Usually any time you switch to a new face wash, you'll break out, since it takes a week or two for your face to get used to it. However, it may not be the right facewash for you. I would try it for a month, care about it states, and if your face doesn't clear up, you might try something new. Make sure to cancel your membership, though, because they’ll keep charging your card and keep sending you product until you cancel it! Mary Kay and Clinique have some great face washes! Good luck!

Hey! Okay, maybe proactiv does cause acne at first, hense what happened to me and you! Because when all the dry and itchy and redness was gone, my face actually looked superior then it did in a long time.. Maybe i will try over the summer again! Here's my story..I used proactive like a week ago, and at first, nothing really happened.. But 2 days later, I noticed my skin started getting red and dry and itchy! I didn't really think much of it until the next day when it was horrible! I was humiliated! I was trying to hide my face at school! But, finally about 2 days ago it was gone! So, I suggest you stop using it. Now, I use St. lves, it's pretty good. I also know Cetaphil works really good too. They aren't all fancy shmancy, but they work good!

Answer:
I had the same problem with ProActive. I eventually stopped using the cleanser (used a tea tree oil cleanser instead) and just used the toner and the lotion, which worked fairly well. It might just not be the right product for your skin, but you might want to give it a couple of weeks to be sure.

Answer:
Ur probably allergic to it! you can sue proactive if ur allergic reaction is really bad.
