My ears are at 2g right now and I've always had problems with my left lobe. They were fine, then I lost my o-rings (I ordered more, they haven't come in the mail yet) and I guess the plug kept nearly sliding out and now my ear is bloody and scabby and tight around the hole, almost hard. It doesn't really hurt, but it's a slightly painful, uncomfortable feeling to touch the hole.
Help ! I need to mend my lobe.
How should I clean it and heal it ?

And please don't tell me you think stretched ears are disgusting.
I love them. (:

Answer:
you tore the lobe. it happens, its fine. wash it 2-3 times a day with a clear anti bacterial soap. when you wake up, before bed, and right after your shower. you dont have to take it out like some people would say. also the sea salt soak is a great idea. i advocate them to all my clients. take a pinch of sea salt and mix it with a shot glass of warm water. soak the water up with gauze, paper towel, or a cotton ball and hold it over your lobe for about 5 minutes. this will draw out infection and promote healing. also if you are using acrylic(plastic) plugs get new ones. surgical stainless steel or glass will work. acrylic will harbor bacteria and leach out chemicals into your body and could ultimately kill your lobe. once your lobe is healed use vitamin e oil and massage it into your lobe for like 5 minutes each day and it will break down the scar tissue so you can stretch easier again. any more questions just email me. lobe stretching is one of the areas of body modification im most knowledgeable in

Answer:
the ideal bet is to get some ear cleaning solution, the same thing you use for peircings? to clean the inside of the lobe. I think its made mostly of hydrogen poroxyide, and if you cant find any of that then youll have the most luck if there’s a piercing stand at your local mall or shopping center. Anywhere that you can get a piercing will have the cleaning solution.

if your ear problem is more like a gaping wound? just clean it as gently as you can with water and apply neosporin to grant it to heal. You might want to keep a bandaid on it for a few days just to grant it to heal.

if you want to get rid of your stretched ear? then thats a whole different story, it reqiures surgical procedures.

and DONT pick it!! any white crusty or scabby stuff is a part of the healing process, it will go away when its healed!

goodluck! :)

Answer:
I had my ears stretched to a 2g too and mine did the same thing.
All I did was leave it alone and clean it each night with salt water or ear cleansing stores give you when they pierce your ears.

If that doesn't do anything after a few weeks I advocate taking it out. It could cause a blowout to your ear like mine :(

Answer:
Bring it back down to the size it was before you stretched.

Don't try stretching it again for about 6 months.

Use warm sea salt soaks or H2Ocean, at least twice a day, for the next month or two to help heal it back up without risking infection.

Yeah, I know having two different sized lobes will be a pain, but you'll just need to deal with it until it properly heals.

If you really don't want to wait, just do the soaks for the two months, then get your lobes scalpeled to the size you want.

If you want to wait the proper 6 months, make sure you use well lubed tapers to upsize one size only at a time, waiting 6 months between sizes.

When you stretch too fast, improperly, you are just asking for a blow out and scar tissue that looks bad and will keep you from stretching any more in the future.

P.S. Try not to sleep on that ear and try not to use the phone on that ear too.

To respond to what the people above me said, do NOT use the “ear cleaning solution”/hydrogen peroxide or any antibacterial cream!! The solution will only hurt the healing tissue and the cream doesn't help with anything, according to peer reviewed medical studies.

Warm sea salt solution or H2Ocean is all you really need! They will prevent any infection and help heal things up nice and swiftly.
