I've been using it for coming on two months at the end of the month. I got a prescription from my doctor for it and I comprehend that it has to get worse before it gets superior, but I'm not seeing any massive improvement. I put it on before I go to bed, and wash my face with benz 5 before. I still have pimples, occasional dry skin and this day i got a burn in my chin area. Im going to go to my doctor in a couple weeks to tell her about it, but is there any other good medication she has the ability to prescribe me or a different strength of retin a?

Answer:
the strongest retin a is .5% which did nothing for my skin, but my acne was only moderate, just really persistent. tazorac (stronger topical cream, but might cause more dryness) works well for me. i am also on an oral pill called dorayx. that combination has kept my skin clear for good… maybe see if that could work for you?

Answer:
retin a worked for me but after a while i stopped using it (for a variety of reasons). i ended up using proactiv and have used it for about 7 years and it has done wonders for my skin.

if retin a is going to work for you, give it about 6-8 weeks of solid use before you give up on it, in my view. but yes, the doc can prescribe a stronger formulation of retin a if they think this is needed. however, that is not going to be very helpful with your dry skin and might worsen it.
