but if i get it done by my mums friend who owns a tatoo gun and has done many tattoo's before but doesnt have like a studio is it against the law :S im planning on gettin it done anyways but i wanna know if its illegal

Answer:
HI Hunnie I’ve lots of tattoo's & here's my advice for you, Make sure you get something that your going to love forever & have it done by someone that knows what their doing & you trust! I've had a couple done by someone in a shop (studio) & my sleeve (arm) done by someone not in a shop! If mom's all for it ~ do what makes you happy!! =) P.s Happy 16th

Answer:
YES it is against the law. You can’t tattoo someone out of your home.

If it is illegal for minors to get tattooed where you live it is DOUBLY illegal (and stupid!) to get tattooed by someone who isn't licensed (if he were he'd be working in a shop!) likely doesn't have access to properly sterile equipment (the only way to get tattoo equipment truly sterile is with an autoclave which most people tattooing out of their HOMES certainly can’t afford!) and is working out of their living quarters.

DON'T DO IT.

Answer:
I don't know if it's illegal but it sure is stupid. You know you’re going to have that tattoo for you whole life? How many adults do you know that like all the same things that they did when they were 16 years old? Do you really think that you will have the same taste or like the same things when you’re 30 or 40 or 50 years old? You WILL be that old one day - unless you die first of course. If you go ahead and do it just remember that that guy on Yahoo! Answers tried to tell you way back when….

Answer:
No it isn't legal. The laws the law.
It's the same with films. Just because you're watching an 18 rated film in the comfort of your own home doesn't make it legal….but of course that's a completely different topic.

Your mother is demonstrating a fine example of bad parenting. I'm 17 and I know some 16 yr old (I'll state acquantances because they're not exactly my friends) who have just got tatoos. Some stupid angel things on their hips. It looks cheap and tacky and the novelty will soon wear off. I'm not bias either. Both my parents have tatoos and I'll be honest, my mum's looks cheap and tacky as do 99.9% of female tatoos.

Answer:
If you’re getting it done anyway what does it matter if what we tell you? I think what you are doing is stupid and you will regret it. Is your mom's “friend” a licensed tattooist? Are you sure you wan something you will regret? Why is it so hard for you to just wait til you’re 18?

Answer:
well i know where i am from.. it is legel under the age of 18 as long as you’ve parent consent and they are with when you get it then there’s nothing illegal about it.. but if you were doing it behind your parents back then it would be illegal.

Answer:
Gosh, really think this over, it is there for your entire life unless you pay to have it removed - and yes it is illegal because you’re under age

Answer:
it is against the law, you have to be 18. but if no-one finds out and your parents are happy then why not!!

Answer:
You must be mad, they’re only coloured scares, that’ll never heal.

Answer:
It's illegal.
And in 10 years or less, you're gonna HATE it.

Answer:
No, not as far as I know.

Answer:
you're too young for a tramp stamp.

Answer:
Sure get a tattoo. Why the hell not?

Answer:
**** yeah! why the **** not? hell yeah JUST GO ******* CRAZY!
