My son is 16 months old and been asking “What's that?” for 4-6 weeks and now he is saying “What is that?”. Do you he’s advanced for his age with speaking?

Right now he is only cruising and testing the waters by standing and not holding on. Should I be concerned? He has really developed his fine motor skills. Would this impact his learning to walk?

Thanks

Answer:
Wow he's very swift talking.
My son doesn't begin standing until 15 months and at 17 months he suddenly just started walking. Oh, what we did was when he was standing we called him and tried to ask him to come towards us and suddenly he just did. (Of course he fell many times) But that was how it began.

Answer:
Boys are generally a bit slower than girls at achieving their milestones. The fact that he's cruising makes me think he's completely fine. But take him to the health visitor or physician to see if there's anything wrong. He might have something wrong with his feet or legs which is preventing him from walking. If there's nothing wrong then dont worry yourself too much. He'dd get it eventually. Babies are usually advanced in some areas and a lot slower in others. And remember, if your son was born premature, he's bound to be slower at doing some things.

hy i have twins 17 months old boy and girl. girl was walking when she was 12 months old my son not a bit, i was very concerned too everyone laught and sayt something is wrong with him but nothing was wrong at all. some kids just take there time, finally 1 month ago he would just get up and walk was breathtaking i thought it never happend. boys are anyways very much slower tha girls. but still till 18 months i wouldn’t be concerned. it will happen when hes ready for it. dont push him he might loose intrest . i think he’s very very very clever and advanced for his age. mine are not talking at all, just mama papa dada cup ball and some things i think only god can comprehend.LOL good luck and dont let anyone tell you he is late. there is no such thing as late.

Answer:
This is fine! He’ll walk when he's ready. If you're really concerned, contact your peditrician, but all babies do things at different times and different rates. No need to worry. My friends daughter didn't walk until she was 17 1/2 months. They did everything to try to get her to walk and all of a sudden one day she just decided on her own to do it. Good Luck!

My daughter is 14mo.
She says:
Whats that?
There it is!
uh oh
oh no
oops
Star
hallelujah (we listen to leonard cohen!)
Mummy
Nanny
and *attempts* Oryon (her 2yr old uncle)

She has been cruising for about 2 weeks. Lets go and symbolizes a couple of seconds. Takes one or 2 steps each now and then… or just dives because she thinks its funny. or falls on her bum cuz she thinks its funny. i think she will be walking within weeks.
It is normal for babies to not walk as late as 18months +!
Dont worry! He’s well on his way! Its so exciting!!

Answer:
Some babies don't walk until they’re 17, 18 or in a few cases, even more months than that. He's cruising, which is good. Chances are he’ll be walking, very, very soon. Don't sweat it yet.

He is fine, he’s normal just needs to get his confidence a bit to start taking those steps. Don't worry he’ll be tearing about the place in no time!
