Ok well calm down first I remeber when my oldest started teething it was a complete nightmare I ran to grandmother and asked her what to do and she had the perfect solution odd enough as it is going to sound I use only infants motrin with kid's and a cold face cloth. Just grab a clean face cloth and run it under some cold water ring it out and give it to them to chew on. Something else I stumbled upon when my son was teething was frozen fruit! If you think about it would you like to chew on frozen rubber both of my kids hated it. Cut up pieces of fruit large enough so they won't choke on them and freeze them. At 17 months old you could even turn them into popsicles they would love them I guarantee it. Yes Babies can get very high fevers from teething as well and DO NOT by any means put a cold towel around them you can cause your child if warm enough to go into shock.

I would get something cold, like a washcloth that you've put inderbold water, and let them chew on it. Also, there are these rings called teething rings. They are made just for babies. They look like the number 8. What you do is, you put them in the freezer for about an hour maybe (because they come filled with water) and take them out and they’re cold so that your kids can chew on them. It also works best because it is like a handel for them to grab on to. Hope I helped and good luck dear! God bless!
