I just got off my period after taking provera 10 day and the doc wants me to see if I ovulate by myself before putting me on chlomid. this is the first period I’ve had in 2 years that has only lasted for a week, so I am pretty excited. My hubby and I have been TTC for over a year now, and the doc told me to check my ovulation on days 10-14, is this correct or should I be testing later like 10-15 or something, havent ovulated in 2 years so I’ve no clue when to test. Thanks for your help!!!
Answer:
I think differently than the previous answer. While some women prefer not to test because it adds anxiety, but if you have PCOS and irregular periods, annovulation, and difficulty conceiving, timing is EVERYTHING. I like to test because if I never ovulate, I need to know so I have the ability to consult my doc. Also it gives you a greater advantage to timing your BDing. Me- I start testing on day 10 because I just started Clomid and that's what my doc advised. I tend to ovulate around day 16, but I don't want to risk missing the boat.
Answer:
I would test for ovulation even longer. You don't know what your cycle is going to look like, so I would invest in an OPK package that has more than a week's worth of sticks (both Answer Brand and First Response have month-long packages). If you haven't ovulated by day 30, I would call your doctor and tell him/her. He/she should then put you on an ovulatory medication.
Best of luck to you and lots of baby dust!!!
Answer:
To be perfectly honest, the cycle I stopped testing is the cycle I got pregnant. Not once, but twice!! So I'm a firm believer in not testing. Why? It adds more stress and takes all the fun out of it. Good luck and I'll send you some of my baby dust!!
