I’ve been hearing a lot of women who take clomid that they're doc monitors them and that they’re told if they ovulate or not. But my doc doesn't do anything like that. Instead she states she wants to see me 3 months from my last appointment. Last time I went in for pregnancy blood test she didn't do anything after I requested and just gave a long speak about sending me to a fertility specialist, even though I had been on clomid only 1 month and even then I didn't take it the right way.
So My question is, what do you ladies say to your doc that makes them monitor you. Or do they call you in each month to check on you? I’m getting frustrated and my husband isn't too keen on changing physicians
Answer:
Now the first time I was put on clomid I had a doctor like yours. He did all the test I needed and gave me clomid with 6 refills on it and told me to come back in 3 months as well. He didn't monitor me at all, and when I did need to come in and see he I had to wait over a month, so unreal. But I really do think that it went down that way because I didn't have insurance, and I was using medicaid. Do you have insurance? If not, like I’ve told you before you should really try finding a better physician. Because like they say you get what you pay for. I have insurance and I have to pay a co-pay of 15 dollars each time I go in, but not for the blood work that's free. Now it my sound cheap but, them 15 dollars add up. And you ask do I’ve to call in to ask her to do any thing, no. She makes all my appointments and tell me when to come in and do blood work or whatever.
About your husband, just ask him, do you want to wait a long time to get pregnant or do you want it to happen now? Working with the last physician I had, it took me over a year to get pregnant going by his schedule. So please try and find a superior doctor.
Good luck and hope things work out for you sooner.
Lots and lots of baby dust to you.
Answer:
To be honest hun, I would seriously consider finding a Reproductive Endocrinologist or asked to be referred to one. Gyno's main focus really isn't fertility patients. An RE sees them all the time. I know your hubby isn't too keen on switching doctor's but you’ve to be comfortable with the doctor you have too! An RE would monitor you and give you proper fertility care. Best wishes hun!! I hope it all works out for you!

I'll second the other post.
You need to see a specialist who knows about infertility issues, and is willing/able to give you appropriate care. Did you even get a full fertility work-up before starting the Clomid?
Answer:
It doesn't sound like you’re getting what you want from your physician. You should go elsewhere. When I told my gyno that I was having trouble getting pregnant, she immediately asked how long. When I told her over 12 months, she started to order tests right away. When I started the clomid, I had an ultrasound before I started, and then another ultrasound after I took the medication, on cycle day 11, to see if it was working. I really think it is strange that your doc gave you clomid, without any follow up to see if they are even making you ovulate. Perhaps you should call her and ask her for a referral to a fertility specialist. It nearly sounds like she was trying to lead you in that direction at your appointment.
I didn’t have to call in every month to check in with my doctor. She tells me what the plan is, and if I concur, we follow through. She calls me at home when I have questions, and also with all my test results. Your doctor sounds…. not good.
