I thought Provera was usually given for 10 days… should it still work to induce my AF? I was given 5mg pills… I don't know if the mgs taken per day have anything to do with how long it is taken… Any info would be appreciated… Oh, also, it takes 2-3 days after stopping Provera for AF to come, right?
Answer:
The first time I took it, I took ten pills. The second time, only five. I am guessing here, but it might have something to do with your hormone levels, you might not need as much of a push to get started. I am sure they will only give you the dose that is needed to begin your period, and not more. When I only took 5 days worth, it took about ten days after the last pill for AF to start. It varies from person to person and even from dose to dose.

I took provera for 10 days and they were 10mg each…..but I hadn't had a period for about 4 months…so i dont know if that had anyhting to do with it….and I started 5 days after my last pill….they say it cfan take anywhere from the day of your pill to 2 weeks after….but if you pass 2 weeks call your physician….
Answer:
That sounds like a very small dose. When I was taking it I took 10mg for 12 days and it worked like a charm. Maybe your doctor wants to begin you of at the lowest dosage and work you up to the higher dosage if this one doesn't work for you. Good luck!
