Pros and cons?

If so, how soon beforehand?
One month, three months, six months… ?

Answer:
Folic acid, a B vitamin, helps prevent birth defects of the brain and spinal cord when taken before the end of early pregnancy. It is available in most multivitamins, as a folic acid-only supplement and in some foods. You should start taking the folic acid a month before conception (but who really knows when conception will take place? lol). Healthy foods, such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables, are the best sources of vitamins and minerals. But because it is sometimes hard to get all the nutrients we need from foods, all adults should take one multivitamin per day. Folic acid is the biggie though. My pregnancy was unexpected for both my husband and I (over six years of TTC and lot's of prayers…lol). But Glory to God we still had a healthy beautiful baby boy! So you’ll be alright! God Bless!!

Answer:
In my own experience with trying to have my son…. My physician put me on vitamins and folic acid when I went in to tell him I wanted another child. Within 3 months I was pregnant with my son. He started me because you’ve a higher chance of getting pregnant when your body is properly nurished. If you’re not treating your body right it may not be the suitable environment for your baby to be healthy.

Answer:
If you plan on getting pregnant in the near future, I would definitely start taking some prenatal vitamins with folic acid early on. Folic acid is what helps to develop the babys neural tube (brain matter and spinal cord connection to the brain). By the time you know you are pregnant, that’s already developed. Its ideal to start it early so u can prep your baby to be the ideal possible health..

Good luck…

By the way, my physician prescribed me with Duet DHA Prenatal Vitamins with Folic Acid. Its one pill.. try it…

Answer:
I started as soon as i thought about getting pregnant. Folic acid helps the baby develop there neural tubes. And those start to develop early on in pregnancy even before some woman know that they're pregnant. I think it's a really good idea. My physician stated at least three months.

Good luck!

Answer:
If your planning on getting pregnant, begin. Folic acid is especially vital in the very beginning to help prevent neuro tub defects.
I also advocate picking un Enfamil Expecta during pregnancy, its great for you and bay's mind.

Answer:
Yes! A good rule of thumb is 2 months prior to conception. That way your body has plenty when your baby is conceived. The ideal thing to do is to take a prenatal vitamin with folic acid and everything else the baby needs.

Answer:
prenadal vitamins. doesnt matter.

Answer:
A woman should begin taking prenatals, as soon as she decides she wants a baby!!!

Answer:
Before. But make sure your doctor approves of the vitamin you’re taking.

Answer:
As soon as you begin trying! I have been on them for 2 months! Just keep pumping your body with them!!!
